Well we are home without incident and we have visual confirmation that BOTH Lynette and Shane made it to their own wedding.
The trip back was relatively uneventful once we got started. There was the case that we had to change a tyre on Shane's ute before we got started so that the kids could get to school we Ms Sue. This seemed to mirror our arrival because when we flew in we met Kelly Carter had driven Shane's ute to Townsville and also got a flat tyre. We even had time for a quick bite at the airport as evidenced by the receipt below. The coffee shop, Aromas, wanted a name but by Sydney accent was misinterpretted, obviously. Lynette made came ferried us to Townsville to meet our flight (at least her 3rd round trip in a week) - thanks Lynette.
We dragged the kids into the dark, dark forrest and the realm of the "evil cat" all the way to the dump. There were treasures to be found and offered to "Mum" for approval. This encouraged more safaris and the kids even walked for a couple of hours on the hope of making it to "Steven's House" at Perone. Marama was bitterly disappointed to find out that she had been "joked". After all we had only done a cirlce from the cattle yards through the Scrubby paddock and back to the rubbish dump. And she was so looking forward to getting her shoes off and cooling her feet, she is not a shoes person.
My 20 odd flea bites are healing and work is like I never left :(
Wedding photos to follow.
